Longmont – The McCormick for Congress campaign is proud to announce Karen McCormick, DVM has been endorsed by the National Women’s Political Caucus. McCormick is challenging incumbent Republican Ken Buck in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District.

In its endorsement, the NWPC stated, “The National Women’s Political Caucus enthusiastically endorses your candidacy to represent Colorado’s 4th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. With your impressive experience and tenacity, we are confident that you will be an important voice for women’s rights in Congress. Our full support is behind you because Capitol Hill needs more strong and committed women like you.”

“I’m so proud to have this endorsement from the NWPC because it underscores why I’m running – because too many people in the 4th Congressional district feel left behind,” said McCormick. “Woman and families are struggling. Health care costs keep increasing, wages aren’t keeping up, and education keeps getting more and more expensive. Colorado families deserve someone who will listen and fight for them in Congress, not just do whatever their corporate donors expect them to do. I look forward to sharing my positive vision for Colorado and our nation with Colorado voters over the next few months, and endorsements like this will help me do just that.”

A Quinnipiac University poll released last week showed a huge gender gap in the upcoming midterm election. Almost 60 percent of women said they were leaning toward the Democratic candidate in their district, compared to 42 percent of men. Just 33 percent of women favored the Republican candidate.
