Longmont – Karen McCormick DVM issued the following statement after winning the Democratic nomination to challenge Ken Buck in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District with an overwhelming margin of victory in the Democratic primary:
“The people of Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District have voted, and I am proud to hear that voters from every corner of our district have supported our campaign to bring honest representation back to this district.
“From day one, our campaign has been about bringing real leadership back to our district and showing up for the people that have been left behind. From front range communities like Longmont, Castle Rock and Trinidad to communities on the eastern plains like Greeley and La Junta, I have spent the last 13 months traveling our district and I have been listening to Republicans and Democrats alike who are frustrated with Congressman Ken Buck.
“From communities who have had to do without broadband access to communities who do not even have access to clean drinking water, eastern Colorado has been left behind. Coloradans deserve better than a career politician who is bought and paid for by out of state special interests.
“I look forward to sharing my positive vision for Colorado and our nation with Colorado voters over the next few months, and I hope to earn the chance to represent the Fourth Congressional District in Congress to fight for affordable healthcare, strong public schools, and the Colorado values we all share that are not being represented in Congress.”
